Dear Friends,

“Are We Sowing To Spirit Or To Flesh?”

What is the sowing and the reaping that is causing the distresses of the people on earth?  Paul summed it up in these words: “If you sow to the Spirit, you will reap life everlasting; if you sow to the flesh, you will reap corruption.” These words make sense  when we re-visit the Law of Expression and see for ourselves how spiritual law is always working.

In the world today there is much condemnation and we see it in the form of many governments, companies, and individuals, being accused of various  misdemeanors.  When we sit in judgement regarding situations involving others, it conveniently takes the spotlight off ourselves.  Do we at times fall into the trap of elevating ourselves to the position of righteousness?  What level of life are we identifying with when we make accusations or judgements?

Jesus said: “Call no man on earth your father,” and indicated clearly that we all originate from the same Divine Source whatever name we know IT by. It is within our own consciousness, at the core of our being, that understanding of our spiritual identity begins.  This is the “God-Centre” of all being, and through this recognition of the divine in all, a need or desire to accuse or judge, falls away. According to Emma Curtis Hopkins: “Effectiveness comes with letting the goodness of the merciful and tender spirit speak instead of your condemning tendencies, wherever anything appears to be evil.”

Truth understood can never be diminished; and the understander of truth can never backtrack.  There is a line in the movie, “Luther,” about the life of Martin Luther that made such an impact on me, and still does. He was suspended from the church and asked to recant his ideas that of course were threatening  the power of the church. In order to be reinstated in the church he was required to recant his ideas.  His response: “I cannot recant truth!” Joan of Arc is another very good example, who, when recognizing the inner divine splendor, exclaimed: “I cannot retract—I am that.”

A statement I read some years ago indicated: “You can have your highest good now.”  Well if we remove the word can, it reads: “you have your highest good now!” There is no effort to be what we are already, in truth.  We do have our highest good now and it abides at the centre of our being.  It is pure love not needing anything in return.  It is from this place of being centred in truth that need for judgement falls away.

Not one individual has been created greater than another. Each has his or her gift to share and something to learn and accomplish in life.  Paul told Timothy to, “churn up that gift that was in him.” Let us be mindful of the greatness of Spirit operating in and through every individual, showing forth IT’S radiance, using each as a vehicle for expression. We come back now to Jesus’ instruction: “call no man on earth your father.”  Is it not time that we realize that all share in the same Spiritual Heritage—is it not time to stop hiding behind the world issues, and allow that which is true to take precedence in our lives?

Whenever we find ourselves accusing or condemning let us know that we are giving a disturbing condition all our attention.  We are sowing then to the flesh, when there is another way.Let us sow to Spirit as we take time in the Silence; let us remember and  bring to mind the words: BE STILL AND KNOW, THAT I AM GOD.

In Closing……

Consider the simple tree.  It operates as a unit. Not a single leaf, twig or branch can live or act independent of the tree as a whole; and the life and substance of the tree is its fulness and wholeness throughout.  There is nothing that a leaf can be of itself; to be at all it must be the tree.  The tree as a whole is in every leaf.

Existence is thought a problem only when one sees or considers his life as separate from the Whole, with mind, thought and will of his own, living in a human state.  From this viewpoint problems can never be solved.  The heart  only can know spiritual things.  The heart asks its questions of God, and receives its answers from God direct.  When one is willing to give his heart in full abandonment to Spirit as his only Life, Being and World, he is then the Way unto himself.

Dear Friends,

“Turning from the Problem”

When our minds are filled to overflowing with a problem, we leave no room for Truth; Truth that is constantly awaiting our recognition as well as our acceptance.  In Truth there is no problem, which we discover as we redirect our focus to THAT WHICH ETERNALLY IS!

There is the story about an old Cherokee teaching his grandson about life. He tells him that inside of him reside two wolves. One is negative, full of anger, greed, self-pity, guilt, false pride and is ego driven.  The other is joyful, peaceful, filled with love, humility, kindness, compassion and faith.  The grandfather explains that this is true for everyone and there is the same conflict between the two wolves going on constantly.  When asked which wolf wins, the grandfather replies: “the one you feed the most.”

This is not the end of the story.  The grandfather explained: “if you feed them right, they both win.  When we choose to feed the good wolf, the bad (or negative one) will be just around the corner waiting to distract us and get our attention.   By acknowledging that they both exist means there is no longer the internal battle for attention.  And when there is no inner conflict, we are able to listen and hear the voice of a deeper knowing that will guide us in choosing what is right in the moment.

In the world around us we always have the two wolves and we could get caught up in a battle-field of win/lose.  And this is usually due to wanting one wolf (team, political party, or country) to win and the other to lose.  Until we realize that winning in the world is only a temporary situation we will remain in the win/lose loop.

Who or what do we turn to in challenging times? The general answer would be, God.  But then we also direct God as to how the issue or situation needs to be resolved.  That is not turning to God – that is merely deceiving ourselves that we are turning to God.  Turning to God means turning from the problem (the existence of the problem if you like) and giving over…surrendering and listening…  “speak Lord for thy servant heareth.”

We need to remember that turning away from the problem….doesn’t mean..  turning toward the solution. No! turning away from the problem means dropping the problem and going within – turning to God – the Inner Presence, for  no other reason than to BE IN THAT PRESENCE  Yet we keep feeding the wolves instead of being fulfilled by Spirit! In other words we’re “seeing double.” We read in Matthew 6:22, The light of the body is the eye: if. therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.  Again, we have the directive to see only Truth. We are in the    world, but in Truth, not of it!

When we turn from the problem, only to seek the solution “out there,” we are seeing double—the problem and the solution. We are not surrendering to Truth; we are not hearing that still small voice within always  ready to direct us. We all know there is more to Life.  Yet, mostly, we are not letting the “more” be our experience.  In Truth there is no problem yet in trying to solve our problems with the human mind we keep seeing the two wolves. So let us visit the stillness that awaits our presence …  The solution is in God!  The solution is God!

In Closing:
All the troubles that come upon us are the effect of “seeing double” instead of seeing with the “single eye” of wisdom.  Our belief in duality recognizes the existence of two powers, good and evil; of two substances, spirit and matter.
Spiritual illumination corrects all misconceptions of the sense-man and reveals the true design of man’s life and work.  This is attained only by correct thinking based upon the principles of eternal reality.
A principle is a truth that, when understood and applied, reveals the original reality.  Just as we become hopelessly entangled in a mathematical problem when we fail to work with the rule, so we plunge our life into confusion when we think and act in opposition to a “spiritual principle.” Richard Lynch—Usable Truth

“Joint Heirs to the Kingdom”

Dear Friends,
I am sure there would be  many answers to the question: “how are we coping in the world today?” Yet perhaps the most prevalent is that many are feeling challenged by the seeming lack of constancy.

Many may yearn for things to go back to the way they were.  What seems to be normal one day, is different the next; and we get  caught up in it all; trying to hold on to what is no longer working, yet reluctant to embrace the new.  It seems we are overlooking the One Constant that has always been and will be. It seems we have forgotten our true identities which we are reminded of so clearly in scripture, that we are “heirs of God, joint heirs with Christ.”

We are told over and over to: “seek first the kingdom, and all else will be added.” God is spirit, and therefore it is a spiritual kingdom that we inherit by virtue of being expressions come forth from the One Creative Source.  We therefore understand that the kingdom of God is within; within consciousness. We access the kingdom in moments of stillness, of quiet contemplation and meditation, where the true gifts of Spirit are discerned.

We need to realize that we do not have to stop in a “holy space,” a temple or church, to find God, but simply give up all expectation of a place or location bringing us to God and realize the eternal Presence within.  We need to realize that we are God individualized; there is One Father of all—no matter what the background, custom, or country of origin an individual relates to in the world.  In Spirit we are one; vehicles for divine expression. Our main practice then is to align with that which is, and always will be, no matter what world circumstances declare.

Right now, during this time in what will become history, we have a divine purpose.  And the purpose is to be mindful of what role we are playing.  Are we aligning with conflict in the world; or are we finally understanding that it does not really matter.  What matters is remaining anchored in the underlying constancy of Spirit—that Presence that goes before us to smooth the way—that Presence that responds to our acceptance of IT!

We do have a choice: whether to hold fast to an idea born of world issues, and clash with other world issues with which we do not agree; or give over to Truth.  Our very resistance feeds that which we resist.

The gifts of Spirit are already ours by virtue of our divine inheritance.  Is it not time we began to not only accept this truth, but live it as well? We are already blessed, yet we deny this by living life as if we still have to strive for joy, for peace, for love. Each and every day we need to practice awareness of the Presence; yet what seems to be, is that we are practicing separation. Separation from our Source; separation from our oneness with all creation, and the separation is only in our human minds.

We are reminded in Psalm 139: “Whither shall I go from thy spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.”

The old ways that some hanker after and the new that others look toward, tempt us to look outside of ourselves for solutions. Now is the time to realize who I AM IN TRUTH. So, instead of focusing on the ‘forces of the world,’ vying for supremacy, let us rather focus on the One Supreme Power, residing in each soul. Each moment in awareness presents us with the opportunity to align with the One. The only Constant in life.

In Closing……
“Through the present moment, you have access to the power of life itself, that which has traditionally been called  “God.” As soon as you turn away from it, God ceases to be a reality in your life, and all you are left with is the mental concept of God, which some people believe in and others deny.  Even belief in God is only a poor substitute for the living reality of God manifesting every moment of your life.”

“Life Is”

Dear Friends
How often do we find ourselves putting life on hold when we could be living life to the full right now?  Now is the time and this is the space; and I am not referring to a particular place or space, but at any time and in any place we can bring ourselves into mindful awareness of the Inner Presence.  Then through greater acceptance and understanding, align with IT and experience truly being alive – alive in the divine process of Life.

We need to be able to create the habit of constant awareness of the Presence that is always with us;  which goes before us to make the crooked places straight. Life is! God is!  And the aspect of God – of Life that I am focussing on, is the aspect of JOY, Joy is!

Details are not required, we already know the challenges that seem to be coming at humanity from all sides. It may even seem to take a fair bit of effort to remain functional. Joy seems to have eluded us and instead of simply enjoying being alive, more often than not, we are very busy being very serious.

God is the fountain of Life – not out there somewhere – within each of us. In Divine Science the basis of reasoning is the Omnipresence of God. There is no-one outside of the Presence. We are in the Presence of God; of the Presence, and like the Presence; and this is true for all.

You and I have nothing to do with the truth of our being, but we have everything to do with the use we make of it. We have been told: “He that believeth in me, the works that I do shall he do also; and even greater works shall he do.”  Are we going to read this, accept it and then sit back and do nothing? Or do we want to partake fully in the fountain of Life, and allow IT to flow into expression through us, so that the joy within spills over, enhancing not only our own lives, but touching the lives of those around us.

“Greater works shall he do….” Remember it is God doing the greater works through us. We merely become the instruments or channels through which the fountain of joy flows.

There are always two things operational in our lives: Thought and Faith. We are always thinking.  Are our thoughts involved with issues of the world, or are we aware of the law: as within, so without? When we establish the realization of God as Life, and realize too, the truth that we are the perfect manifestations originating this Life, it brings us to the second point: Faith – We all do have faith, yet how often is it faith in lack, disease, or our apparent shortcomings? Our faith in the inner workings of the Presence (it is the Father within who doeth the work) brings forth the good in our lives.  So we use thought and faith together, remembering…”as a man thinketh, so is he.”

We grow to be like that with which we identify ourselves.  When our attention is on spirit, on the truth of our origin, the strong, radiant power of spirit will manifest in our lives.  As stated by Nona Brooks: “Man’s highest attainment comes through inner revelation.  His part is to learn God’s plan, to realize and  cooperate with the divine purpose within himself.”

When we take time to BE in the stillness, to meet and experience God within, we will unleash a fountain of joy as spirit surges forth. Let us not hold out on ourselves. Life is! Let us live it to the full every moment, in joy.
LIFE IS! – GOD IS! – I AM!

In Closing…….
“Divine Science is revealing to us two things: first, that healing is not a physical process but, spiritual realization; and second, that health is not a condition of physical well being but the realization of God’s Presence and Perfect Activity.
God is health.  Do I hear you asking, ‘Since God is health and God is omnipresent, what is there to be healed?’  There is only one condition to be healed – our misconceptions.”  Nona L. Brooks

“Being the Light.”

 Dear Friends

What is the greatest of blessings? LIFE! And we all have Life now!! And this blessing of Life is pulsating through each of us in every moment. IT is that Inner Flame burning within the hearts and souls of all. This blessing of Life that we share is what unites us; not only with each other, but in God, the giver of Life.

Being the Light, is in effect STILLNESS and ACTION, working together. And if it seems that I am posing riddles for you , let me explain.

When one lights a candle and sets it down, the flame burns straight and unmoving, casting light evenly around it. Someone moves through the room or opens a door, causing a draft and the flame wavers and depending on how much air movement there is, could almost be extinguished.

We are like candle flames burning true and upright, everything in harmony (or so we think) until something (or someone) comes into our space and causes a draft. Then we are challenged! How do we cope with the so-called “drafts” in our lives? Those times when demands are made upon us from all sides and we seem to have to draw on all resources, just to keep going. What to do?

The very thing that appears to cause us discontent, unhappiness; whatever the challenge, is often a divine impulse urging us to change. Change our habits or perceptions, our beliefs, the way we live life. This thing, whatever form it takes, is showing us that there is another way! It is a marker on our route, a very definite pointer of the way forward.

Years ago I remember watching in fascination as my Grandmother wound up the grandfather clock in her home. She inserted a large key in the front and turned it a specific number of times. Then the large gold pendulum would swing from side to side, measuring out the seconds and minutes as they ticked by.

Well, how often do we get “wound up” by world affairs and then swing (like the pendulum) from one extreme to the other. What in the world is winding you up right now? Remember the words that Jesus said: “What is that to thee…..follow thou me.” What we are fussed about today passes, but the Christ way (being aligned with Truth) is eternal.

When we take time to Be Still… we are not bent towards good or evil, young or old, rich or poor. These things will still be in evidence in the world, but not in the stillness that for that time removes us from them.

And it is from the Stillness that we are guided to act. So with our flames held steady in Truth, we can move forward in trust in a world that appears to be spiralling.

Each soul has a responsible purpose and there is a deeper level at which to participate in Life; a level where outer situations do not put us through the wringer; and it is not our single goal just to survive. Throughout his teaching Jesus emphasized our being one (in consciousness) with God. There are many passages in scripture that give evidence of this:

You are the light of the world.

Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

One God and Father of us all, who is above all, and through all, and in all.

One is your Father.

The ultimate teaching of Jesus was that we come to that point in consciousness where God is truly realized and experienced; and then it is no longer human consciousness but spiritual consciousness.

It is the destiny of each one to express the Christ Light. Don’t let us wait until we come to the end of all our human resources – let us hand over and place our trust in God, knowing that all our needs will be, and are met, according to His will, whatever that may be.

In Closing….

“From the upper side of our being we look into God’s perfect world, see it in its beauty and loveliness. When the outer senses are stilled in our faithful devoted effort to attune our-selves to that upper side of our being, a heavenly healing in-fluence will be felt throughout our whole being, even unto the outermost. Herein is it that God’s healing works to bless our body even as our soul.

According to our faithful attitude to life, our loving heed to the working of His purpose amid all that transpires, so will all things work together for good. Not a mere pedestrian good, but a good that accords with our high estate in Christ!

The faithful soul who knows the secret of God’s ways dwells in perfect peace; and all that transpires within her, so far from alarming, only reassures her. Intimately convinced that God is guiding, she accepts everything that comes as a token of His grace. And so indeed it proves, even as she abides wholly forgetful of self.

To find God under all these appearances is the great act of faith; to make everything a means of uniting one’s self with God is the exercise of faith.

“Being Part of a New Tomorrow – Today!”

Dear Friends

“If there is no change in our consciousness today, there will be no change in our outer experience tomorrow. In proportion as some change takes place in our consciousness, in that proportion is there an improvement in our outer affairs— either in health, personal relationships, or supply.” The World Is New – Joel Goldsmith

Now this is so true! We cannot expect anything to change in our experience if we are holding the beliefs in consciousness that we are perhaps clinging to. Maybe without realizing it, we are waiting for every-thing “out there” to improve or change, and then we will change. Then when it has been proven “out there” we will give it our due consideration.

I was watching an inter-view between David Steindl-Rast and Rabbi Lawrence Kushner, where it was indicated that fear causes us to cling or to fight. It was also suggested that fundamentalism clings to religious doctrinism out of fear. This is inflexibility. Daily, I have gratitude in my heart for this Teaching of Divine Science, offered as a Way. A Way to live and experience life at a deeper more meaningful and richer level. Now this teaching is not new. It has been expounded, shared, written about, and proven by many for centuries.

What is “new” is maybe a different personality offering a book, or workshop or presentation in a seemingly exciting way. When it comes to Truth – the Truth that always has been, Truth that eternally is, we are guided or instructed to dig deep – go deep into the Silence within to access IT.

We cannot just boot up our computers or select google on our phones. This is Something that technology cannot give us. Truth challenges us to experience IT. And the experience is in consciousness.

And from the experience – the inner experience – we see life differently; we participate in a world that is new. Paul stated this succinctly in the words: “Be ye renewed by the renewing of your mind.” The inner mind – consciousness.
In 2 Cor.5:17 are the words:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; be-hold, all things have become new.” Bearing in mind that it is Christ consciousness referred to and not the man. Jesus taught that in aligning with God, IT, with Christ consciousness…all things become new.

In the interview I referred to earlier, Brother David Steindl-Rast, said the following, and I quote: “The religions start from mysticism. There is no other way to start a religion. But, I compare this to a volcano that gushes forth…and then…. The magma flows down the sides of the mountain and cools off. And when it reaches the bottom, it’s just rocks. You’d never guess that there was a fire in it. So, after a couple of hundred years, or two thousand years or more, what was once alive is dead rock. Doctrine becomes doctrinaire. Morals become moralistic. Ritual becomes ritualistic. What do we do with it? We have to push through this crust and go to the fire within” [end of quote]

And what is that fire within? It is Truth/God/IT, and in life whether it be mankind, animal, plant or mineral – there is no separation from IT (God).

Through the daily distractions in life, we seem to have forgotten, yet the “fire” still burns. No place is any holier or more sacred than another. We bring our sense of the sacred with us into each and every space. Our awareness, in the moment, is a sacred, mystical experience.

So, let us give up clinging to the idea or desire for life to return to “normal”; let us drop any fear as we move forward in trust to the deeper, new experience ready to unfold through and for each soul.

In Closing….

I remind you of a lovely little story that illustrates so well, how often we may feel reluctant to trust what already is; always has been; and always will be; so we cling…..instead of letting go.

Once there lived a village of creatures along the bottom of a great crystal river. The current of the river swept silently over them all — young and old, rich and poor, good and evil — the current going its own way, knowing only its own crystal self.

Each creature in its own manner clung tightly to the twigs and rocks of the river bottom, for clinging was their way of life, and resisting the current was what each had learned from birth. But one creature said at last, “I am tired of clinging. Though I cannot see it with my eyes, I trust that the current knows where it is going. I shall let go, and let it take me where it will. Clinging, I shall die of boredom.”

The other creatures laughed and said, “Fool! Let go, and that current you worship will throw you tumbled and smashed against the rocks, and you will die quicker than boredom!” But the one heeded them not, and taking a breath did let go, and at once was tumbled and smashed by the current across the rocks. Yet in time, as the creature refused to cling again, the current lifted him free from the bottom, and he was bruised and hurt no more.

And the creatures downstream, to whom he was a stranger, cried, “See a miracle! A creature like ourselves, yet he flies! See the messiah, come to save us all!” And the one carried in the current said, “I am no more messiah than you. The river delights to lift us free, if only we dare let go. Our true work is this voyage, this adventure.”

But they cried the more, “Savior!” all the while clinging to the rocks, and when they looked again he was gone, and they were left alone making legends of a savior.

“Consecrating Ourselves to Truth.”

Dear Friends

Traditionally, each year, our first service focuses on consecrating our sacred space of meeting; namely our Sanctuary. This year it is different.

All around us Life is nudging us to take stock; so, it seems that this is a time and opportunity to go forward into the year, living according to what is REAL in Life. What is REAL is infinite; what is REAL cannot be threatened; is not under siege. So, then…it would seem that in getting ourselves worked up about what seems real, we are forgetting about what truly IS, ETERNALLY.

We ask that you join us in taking responsibility, each accepting the role of holding to Truth, to what is REAL, and thereby being part of the lifting of consciousness, to where the true Peace, Love and Compassion are felt, under-stood and practised.

We have a practical and perfect example found in Luke12:22-32, where Jesus instructs his disciples to: “Take no thought.” This means stop using human thinking! The results of human thinking show clear evidence when we look around at our world experience today.

So perhaps it is time to consider that these challenges facing many, are part of a bigger plan. A plan and process to be trusted at a much deeper level. A plan that has nothing to do at all with human thinking.

Generally human thinking has given power to disease, led to individuals thinking lack and fearing, and to countries fighting for power. There is only One Power, God; yet we are often concerned with things of the world when our focus should be on the One Reality. This One has already provided for us, and creation is whole and complete, awaiting our acceptance and recognition, not at the human level but at the experience of IT in consciousness. And ….as we teach ….God is an experience.

Taking no thought—no human thought—indicates that we are aligned with that spiritual power functioning in and as each one. Today, many may be feeling despondent about the state of the world. However, there is work to be done, and it is up to us to uphold Truth and be the vehicles for love, light and peace to be experienced.

We can be a part of the change in consciousness, moving for-ward, by being accountable for our thoughts.

Let us stop living in a completely material sense of existence. We are more than that; Life is more than that. Let us experience the more that is available to each and every individual, as we recognize only the spiritual identity present in each soul.

Taking thought, cannot change your Truth or mine. What is REAL is infinite and can never be threatened.

We trust the process as we take into account the final words in that passage from Luke, namely verse 32: “Fear not little flock, it your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”

This is such wonderful promise; stated always in the present tense. For me this is usable truth, which can be put into practice each and every day; reminding us over and over again that by taking (human) thought we cannot add one cubit to our stature.

We cannot add to the perfection of creation, yet the perfection in creation needs to be (can only be) discerned spiritually. It has nothing to do with the world!

So, today going forward, we consecrate ourselves to the indwelling Truth and we trust!

In Closing….

A spiritual ministry is not only a sacred one, but it is a secret one. You do not voice the fact that you have come to the realization that you are a child of God and an heir to all the heavenly blessings. You maintain that awareness in your own consciousness sacredly and secretly, and you do not bless people by outwardly or openly speaking truth to them, but by silently letting the peace of God flow through you to them.

You really have nothing to give the world until the Spirit of God is upon you and you are ordained. Then you will not have to go out seeking to shed your light. The world that is in darkness will come to you for light, but only because you have chosen to serve the Spirit of God in every person.

“Consciousness—The Cornerstone Of Life.”

Dear Friends

We are told that a stone uniting two masonry walls at an intersection is known as a cornerstone; relating to a physical building.

When we refer to the building of consciousness, it is not something solid, yet paradoxically far more reliable; something that is governed, we could say, by laws that far outweigh, and supersede, the laws we experience, set humanly in the world.

The stories found in the New Testament, told by Jesus through his Christ Consciousness, apply even today. In fact these stories (lessons) give us philosophies by which to live our lives.

The story under consideration, we find in the gospel of Matthew 7:24-27.

  1. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which build his house upon a rock:
  2. And the rain descended and the floods came, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
  3. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
  4. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

According to George Lamsa in his book, Gospel Light, “This is a picture of a man who builds upon the foundation of truth which stands like a rock and of another who builds on false doctrines which shift like sands.”

Now I heard these stories from an early age in Sunday School, interpreted literally, as I am sure is the case for many. Yet it is important to realize that we have evolved to a place of much deeper understanding and knowing.

A cornerstone refers to a stone uniting two masonry walls. Well, interestingly, in Truth there is no uniting of two separate aspects—there is a REALIZATION OF UNION.

The cornerstone then is the realization; and it is the realization in consciousness of the Oneness of All Life. And the depth of understanding in consciousness denotes the strength of our foundation in Truth.

In verse 24, we have Jesus stating that whoever hears these sayings of his and then follows through by living accordingly, will be considered wise. The law works and there will be a corresponding consequence. In other words, we have been given the “tools’ or know-how, and these are for each and every soul. No-one is excluded, yet perhaps we continue somehow to relate all this to a time gone past; to another era.

What was taught and shared with the people of biblical times— law and principle—still holds true today, and during these uncertain times we have the perfect reason to follow what works and let go of what does not.

We teach: “It is the destiny of mankind to express the Christ, for this cosmic principle within each individual soul is the way, the truth, and the life. The true individual life is an expression of the Infinite Life for by the law of expression like produces like, and thus is made plain the principle of Omnipresence—All is One.

Christ is the divinity, the light that lighteth every man, and, being universal, and formed in all, makes everyone a son. This does not lessen the divinity of Jesus but reveals the divinity of all mankind.”

Let us actively participate in being the cornerstone of truth, in consciousness.

In Closing….

“The ultimate aim of every man (woman) should be to come into the consciousness of an indwelling God, and then, in all external matters, to affirm deliverance through and by this Divine One.

There should not be a running to and fro, making human efforts to aid the Divine, but a calm, restful, unwavering trust in All-Wisdom and All-Power within one as able to accomplish the thing desired.”

Emilie Cady

May you and your loved ones know Peace and Love this Christmas, through conscious union with the Inner Presence.

Nona Brooks stated: “The only thing that truly unites us is a consciousness of the Whole. Then we love. Love sees the whole of humanity and gives itself to all. Self-seeking separates mankind. As we seek the good of all, we are firmly united.”

And this is the basis of Divine Science, which is offered as a way. Many know, from attending classes, that the foundation principle of Divine Science is the omnipresence of God; and what follows then is the PRACTICE OF THE PRESENCE. It is not a theory, but a way of living life!

The practice of the Presence is a fully focused moment by moment exercise. Stopping to smell the roses isn’t just an idealistic suggestion; it carries value. Do we try to fit too much into the day, scurrying from one activity to the next?

Working with one statement of truth at a time can be so fulfilling, and my soul is stirred when I contemplate the words found in the Gospel of Thomas: “Split a piece of wood; I am there. Lift a stone and you will find me there.”

Jesus was not referring to himself, but the I Am—that Presence that he indicated when he referred to his mission yet said: “..the Father that sent me, for I of mine own self am nothing.” In this way he was bearing witness to the Presence and Power of God. In all he undertook, he continually referred to bearing witness to the One Presence and Power.

We all agree, I am sure, that this is a fine teaching, with no exclusive intention, but offering a way to live Life. We need to begin putting it into practise, and now, at this time in our experience, we have no better reason.

What is required is that we reject appearances. Human appearance is incidental to Truth. We need to look beyond the appearance, deep into what IS. The sacred is in, as, and through all.

Does this not explain so well, the Omnipresence and reality of who we are?  God filling the entire being of each and every individual.

This again brings us to the consciousness of the Whole. This unites us and as we realize this truth for ourselves, we are able automatically, to realize it for all.

It is heartening to hear this message coming from other traditions and groups; we are all beginning to understand together; we are all realizing the same Source that unites us. We are all finding union in sacred awareness.

The message has been shared and taught over many, many years, and now is beginning to be understood as it is embraced in consciousness. Perhaps we are reaching that critical mass point, referred to by some.

I truly find it so uplifting that more and more, there is a “coming together” through this greater understanding and realization of One Truth for All!

In Closing….

“I rest in God.”  This thought will bring you to the rest and quiet, peace and stillness, and the safety and happiness you seek. “I rest in God.”  This thought has power to wake the sleeping truth in you, whose vision sees beyond appearances to that same truth in everyone and everything there is. Here is the end of suffering for all the world, and everyone who ever came and yet will come to linger for a while. Here is the thought in which the Son of God is born again, to recognize himself.

This is the day of peace. You rest in God, and while the world is torn by winds of hate your rest remains completely undisturbed. Yours is the rest of truth. Appearances cannot intrude on you. You call to all to join you in your rest, and they will hear and come to you because you rest in God. They will not hear another voice than yours because you gave your voice to God, and now you rest in Him and let Him speak through you.

A Course in Miracles.

“Our Call To Surrender To What IS!”

Dear Friends

I begin with these words from Joel Goldsmith: “Self-surrender does not mean one-half the things most people think it does. It only means surrendering the things you think you want. Whatever you are looking for in life, surrender it, because it is a barrier to major attainment.”

The directive in Jn 8:32, is really indicating the same thing: “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

Generally, we may find resistance to the above as mostly we see a world that needs fixing; people we think need fixing; a virus to overcome.  How do we surrender, and not do anything?  Well it seems that souls all around us are slowly waking up to the idea that the most responsible time in Life is this now moment.

And in this moment, we need to give up the idea of a ‘messiah’ coming to save us; no-one else is going to do for us, what we are already equipped to do for ourselves. And this is by virtue of our true heritage where through shared origin, each of us has come forth carrying our perfect, God-given, un-contaminated blueprint.

The more we see a ‘need’ in our daily experience; and it may be a need for peace, for prosperity, for health…. whatever the need—it is already here! Going back to Basic Spiritual Principle: there is no absence of anything—only Omnipresence.

As stated over and over in our classes and Sunday Lessons, each one is here for a purpose. Jesus indicated: “for one cause was I born, for one cause have I come to earth: to bear witness to the truth, that the works of God may be manifest through me and ultimately through each one.”

Consciousness is the controlling principle. So then, being aware and understanding our purpose, or duty even, to Life; what are we bringing into being with our thoughts? It cannot be stated enough that we are the ones who at this time are responsible. Are we prepared for the responsibility?

All around us things are breaking down—life as we knew it is no longer the ‘same’, and let us thank God for that, because in many ways (and I generalize) we have been on a path to self-destruction.  Now things are breaking down and I trust we are being broken open to Truth. Until our hearts, our minds, our souls break open to receive the Truth that IS…. for each soul; realized by all, we will not experience IT.

John 8:32:  And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. An extremely important statement in scripture and so necessary to be fully understood. It is not to do with knowing about truth; it involves the experiencing of truth.  As with Jesus, we too, are here to bear witness to the truth and this is truth based on experience.

So, it is not something to be read about; no-one is going to do it for us. We are not going to be saved—there is nothing from which to be saved.  What God has created is already perfect and complete and creation is continually evolving as God is evolving through It’s creation.

And this is where surrender comes into the picture. We need to give up and let go of our old ideas and beliefs in order that we experience who we are in truth. We surrender to our true heritage and call nothing on earth our source. In this we realize we are not here to perfect the human but to know and prove our spiritual heritage. Are we ready to do this? Are we ready to surrender to WHAT IS, and discover the most freeing sense of being? Know the truth and be free…. as you surrender to what IS.

In Closing….

The past must be left to God’s measureless mercy, the future to his loving providence; and the present must be given wholly to his love through our fidelity to his grace.

Let us understand clearly that we shall not acquire true conformity to the will of God until we are perfectly resolved to serve him according to his will and pleasure, and not according to our own.
