Dear Friends,

Do We Have Faith In What IS?”

Do we have faith in what IS? This is a big  question and best answered by identifying what is meant by: “IS.”  The scriptures when fully understood, at a level beyond the literal, give us the answer. We can also find the answer in quiet meditation.

In the book, Divine Science, Its Principle and Practice, we have the following words: “Belief in separation from God has caused man’s sense of lack and limitation. Such belief has not changed the real nature of man or altered his relation to God, but it has blinded him to Truth and he has suffered in his wanderings.”

What has caused us to wander away from our Truth? And this has nothing to do with a particular religion or tradition. It has to do with you and me—all who occupy the planet at this time. In our wandering away from Truth—from the principles of Life—we seem to have landed in a quagmire of “trouble” world-wide.

Well, whether we feel we need God, or not, is our own business, yet what is taking place around us right now is showing us very clearly that what, and how, we have been—are being–is not working. Perhaps our faith has been misplaced?  In the Gospel of Thomas, it is stated: “If you do not fast from the world, you will not find the kingdom.”

Ignorance of Truth is the seeming great delusion of the world. Quoting from the book referred to earlier: “Although Truth is omnipresent and changeless; although man lives, moves, and has his being in God, the All Good; although he dwells in the kingdom of heaven, if he is not conscious of it, he may go on his way lacking many things and losing the blessedness that IS his. Heirs of God, joint-heirs with Christ, men may, through ignorance of the truth be slaves of misery, doubt and poverty. Truth must be recognized in order to be realized and to become a power in the lives of men.”

Emmet Fox in his book, Diagrams for Living, makes reference to the name of God being: I AM THAT I AM. He goes on to state that I AM is your true identity. I AM is your real name, and in that name there is power.  I AM is Divine Spirit, your real eternal self. This is the IS-ness we are talking about. That which IS and can never change. In order to access this truth of our being, we need to be aware.

Again quoting from Divine Science, Its Principle and Practice: “Revelation comes to all who can see. To receive the first evidence of Truth’s presence we must look, not without, but within.”  Each story in scripture offers us examples and points us in the way of Truth and when investigated metaphysically and mystically, gives such clarity. Maybe we have wandered too far and its  time to turn inward.

In Closing…….
Robert Browning states it well:
Truth is within ourselves; it takes no rise
From outward things, whate’er you may believe.
There is an inmost centre in us all,
Where truth abides in fullness; and to know
Rather consists in opening out a way
Whence the imprisoned splendor may escape,
Than in effecting entry for a light
Supposed to be without.

Bountiful blessings,
 Mallory
