Dear Friends,

Climbing Higher in Consciousness.”

At the current speed at which changes are happening in the world, as you know; changes that most of us are not comfortable with, we need to “climb higher.”  In Galatians 6:9, we read: “Ye shall overcome if ye faint not.”

It seems we are being given an opportunity today to truly experience Life aligned with Truth!  It seems that there really is no other choice right now.  What a blessing!!  I quote briefly the words of Jean Pierre de Caussade, the French Jesuit priest and writer, who died in 1751: “Arise then, my soul. Let us walk with uplifted head above all that is passing about us, and within us—content with what He does with us, and what he gives us to do. Let us live in this upper or superior region of the soul from where we discern God and His will working out for us, even though outwardly, in our sense experience we feel tempest tossed.”

It is not always easy to understand, but right now, I believe we are being given a beautiful gift—a wonderful opportunity—to rise up and BE that which we are all created to BE. Let us be honest; if we did not get a “shake-up” now and again, would we ever emerge from our passive, mere state of existence? Right now, with the way things seem to be, many of us I am sure, would value a passive interlude.

We are being given a great opportunity to “step higher;” to step up to the plate, so to speak, and participate in the solution—the upliftment of our respective countries, and ultimately of our world.  And many are already doing this as the “stepping higher,” is moving to a higher understanding in consciousness.  We may ask, “where is God in all this?”  Yet as we wake up to the Truth of Omnipresence—God, as, in, and through all creation, we have our answer.

A good explanation is found in Emmet Fox’s book: Diagrams For Living, where he states the following:  Jesus said we could move mountains and so we can.  He did not mean literal mountains.  That would only be a conjuring trick. He meant mountains of difficulty and trouble, mountains of fear and frustration and doubt.  He said we could do it if we had sufficient faith in God.  There is no limit on the side of God, but we put a limit on our faith and understanding.  The only difference between Moses and his followers was in the quality of  their thinking.  Moses thought tall. He got higher in consciousness.  So long as we wrestle with the problem we get nowhere.  We are trapped in a circular cage and the only way out is through the top.”

It is time to follow the words found in Psalm 121: I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence commeth my help.  Look up!  In our Teaching of Divine Science, we move our attention away from the visible to the invisible—and this gives us a new and correct basis for our thinking. I quote now from our Divine Science Text book—something I have had underlined since 1997, and refer to often: Truth is forever awaiting our recognition. Our divine nature can never be lost, and sooner or later all shall awaken to its presence within them.  Although Truth is omnipresent and changeless, though we live, move, and have our being in God, the All-Good, yea though we dwell in the Kingdom of Heaven but have not consciousness of it, we may go on our way lacking many good things and losing the blessedness that is ours. Consciousness of Truth then is our great need, not that more good may come to us, not that we may have more strength or wisdom or life or health sent to us, but that our comprehension may be opened to see that all is within our very nature and that all God is, is forever ours.

In Closing…….
“The sublime majesty of Truth’s presence in the sacred sermons of so many wise ones, those of good will, ultimately guides us to the ways of peace and wisdom, the lovely, the holy. And so our troubled hearts are reassured, and we can read and reread about God’s word in many scriptures.
However incomprehensible, a faith settles into our hearts that awakens the desire to understand Infinity and Forever. The dedication is eternal and to the Eternal. For the Word becomes flesh — and this is an eternal utterance, an act that includes the human heart mounted on a towering aspiration. Yet even this pyramiding love is without effect unless winged with Grace. So we shall let fly our supplications, enfolded in holy silence on wings of veneration, to the throne of our most Sovereign Good with the request to guide the spirit of our understanding, wherein we stand within God’s Light, in order to see the pouring out of the Sacred Word made manifest.”
